As Park Royal is one of the largest centres for commerce, industry and business in London it seems fitting to have a number of car hires in the area to accommodate visiting businesspeople. National car hire at Park Royal is no exception to this and they have one site located there. Because Park Royal is in Central London you do need to expect to pay a premium on the price compared to other city locations and airports. As such, prices start well above £150 and go up to the £200 mark. There is a fairly good range of cars available here, starting at the ‘mini’ class which is a Chevrolet Matiz with a 1.0L engine, or similar, next is the economy class which will be a Vauxhall Corsa with a 1.2L engine or something similar. The final class is ‘compact’ where there are two choices – a Skoda Fabia 1.4L engine or a Ford Focus Zetec with a 1.6L engine or equivalent models. Mini pricing is about £160 per 7 days, economy £170, standard compact £180 and luxury compact £190.

With National you can specify a drop off and pick up location at any of their city or airport locations in the country, so you could pick up your car in southern London and drop it off in Park Royal, for example. This works well if you’re flying into the capital and visiting Park Royal; you can hire a car from the airport, drive it to Park Royal, and drop it off there.

Anytime anyone spends money, they want to get the most out of it. Even if one’s business is paying the expenses, getting good value is desired. To that end there are these 5 ways to get the best out of your car rental.

First, always ask for a free upgrade. If there was a problem with the reservation, this will usually be offered automatically. However, if everything is fine being a bit chatty and friendly with car rental agent could payoff in a free upgrade in a car.

Second, be sure and take advantage of the time you have. With public transit one wastes time waiting, making connections, and having to get from station to final destination. Having a car means one will have more time, make the most of it by seeing all one would like.

Third, when renting a car get one better than you own. It may cost a bit more, but that special indulgence can add something extra to trip and make it memorable.

Fourth, rent a car that you may be considering to buy. That will be a good way to really test drive in a real world situation how a car will serve you long term. This way you get a trial run but it also serves the purpose of the trip.

Fifth, shop online to get the best car rental deal. Even if you are loyal to a particular company, check what the company offers online at travel sites besides the official company site. Many times they try to move inventory on the travel sites and keep the higher prices on their own web site.
